Chihuly Sculptures

Ever heard of Chihuly? If not you should google him or better yet watch a youtube video of him. He is an AMAZING glass blower sculpture. He is the artist the Doodlebugs studied today. Then we made our own Chihuly Sculpture. They did amazing. Unfortunately I didn't get many pictures of finished projects due to the fact that we had 14 kids and it was only me today. But they all turned out AMAZING!

All we did is take a clear plastic plate and used perm. markers
We then took small clear plastic cubs and colored them with the perm. markers Then the cups and plates went into the oven, about 230 degrees. You have to watch it closely as it melts and forms into these cool shapes. We then took a clear plastic bottle and hot glued the cups to the bottle. The plate was glued to the bottom of the bottle (depending on the shape of the plate after it melted). Then with a hole at the top of the bottle and a string to hang it, you have a GREAT chandelier. After making them, the thought came to me that we could get a glow stick and put it in the bottle and it will light up your Chandelier.
