Doodlebug studio



The studio is finally finished.
The success of the Doodlebugs has lead us to finish our basement and complete a studio for classes.

Cub Scouts invade the art room


The Bear Den invaded Doodlebugs one day. They were passing off an elective requiring art/gift giving. As you can see each boy has their interpretation of the project. That's what is great about Art

We have been learning about the artist Kandinsky. I have been saving lids for a long time. I've been seeing these amazing mural using lids.

Art Show


The art show was a great big success.
This time the Eagle Mountain City Library hosted. It gave the kids the
opportunity to show off their talents in front of the entire community.

Milk jug masks

The kids made masks out of Milk jugs and plaster of paris bandages. It was a lot of fun




Inspired from Wayne Thiebaud




My students learned about the Desert artist, Wayne Thiebaud and then sculpted their own sundaes. They colored the glue to make it into the sauce which was then poured onto their ice cream scoops.

Miss Debbie's Doodlebugs in the paper

About a week ago I was contacted by the Daily Herald, our local paper, wanting to do a profile on my Children's art classes. So on Wednesday the photographer came to our class and photographed my students. Today the article hit online and will be in the Daily Herald tomorrow. So Cool. Check out the article.

Wayne Thiebaud

In Art class we learned about Wayne Thiebaud and his dessert art. Not only did we paint cupcakes using spackle paste and then sculpted some ice cream. YUM!!

Fall Art Classes Begin


In my back yard there is a field and this year the field is filled with Sunflowers. It is so beautiful, a perfect place for our first Art Class for the Fall. Kids used oil pastels.
